Embarking on your GPT3 / LaMBDA / Sparrow Journey

Whether or not you have heard about GPT3 over the past few weeks - you will soon!! GPT is an AI system that has been generating some impressive output these past few months - and the possibility of it changing the way many people accomplish their tasks is about to change.

Another interesting aspect to all of this - is that while GPT3 is getting the lions share of the press - there are other similar efforts afoot. Last year I learned about Google’s LaMBDA engine - and just recently saw where Google may be in collaboration with DeepMind on something called Sparrow.

As I am an Enterprise Architect, I am usually very interested in how these engines are built. While I am by no means an “AI Guru” - I do enjoy learning about the complexity of systems - AND - helping non-technical people understand them.

While brings me to the reason for this first of what will be several posts AND webinars. Right now, I am trying to understand the various data sources that these engines are using to “Train” themselves - and more importantly - how is it eliminating potential bias in the data - as well as determine what the “correct” answer to a question should be.

The following is the diagram I assembled earlier today, that visualizes several of the questions I have. I expect this diagram to evolve as I learn more - and I plan on “filling in” many of the boxes below.
